"Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion."

Teresa Smith
Registered Psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and owner of Teresa Smith & Co. Psychotherapy
I was drawn to a career in psychotherapy after my own fulfilling experiences in therapy throughout my life. I found value in sharing and exploring, not only my deepest fears and painful moments, but also the joys of life and the dreams I had for myself. I also found healing in unexpected areas, such as my experience as a Black biracial woman and my experience with societal expectations regarding body image. It is my hope to provide clients with a safe, welcoming space in which they too can find healing in whichever area of their life they choose to explore.
It is my belief that the path to healing can take many forms, and that therapy is a space in which that path can be explored and fortified. In my work with clients, this journey primarily begins by exploring connections in current and past relationships with loved ones, our lineage as well as the relationship we have with ourselves. I strive to practice from lens that prioritizes decolonizing therapy through an trauma-informed, strength-based, and anti-oppressive approach. I strive to embody a compassionate, collaborative, and curious stance, and I am passionate about exploring new and different avenues (e.g., spirituality, ancestry, meditation) with clients.
I also work from a systemic perspective, meaning I look beyond the individual to explore broader systems and ideas (such as the influence of culture, societal expectations, privilege & oppression). It is my hope to provide you with a holistic exploration of your experiences, so that you may gain deeper clarity and wisdom with which to face new challenges and experience life's joys.
In terms of therapeutic modalities, I employ an integrative mix of emotion-focused therapy, internal family systems, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I also integrate mindfulness and somatic based methods.

Reem Baruni
Reem is a student therapist who believes therapy can offer a space to slow down, feel heard, and reconnect with yourself with greater compassion and understanding. She recognizes the courage it can take to reach out for support, and strives to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where clients can show up as they are. Reem works alongside clients at their own pace, supporting them in navigating life’s challenges while building deeper self-awareness, connection, and trust in their inner strengths and resilience. Her approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and care.
As a person of colour and second-generation immigrant, Reem also recognizes the ways culture, family dynamics, identity, and larger societal systems can shape how we experience ourselves and move through the world. She values holding space for clients to explore these experiences with compassion and openness. Reem works with individuals navigating anxiety, stress and burnout, body image concerns, disordered eating, identity and cross-cultural experiences, life transitions, and challenges related to self-worth and emotional well-being.
